Ink Brigade is a screen printing shop in Portland, OR that specializes in small to large runs of high quality screen printed shirts for bands, artists and businesses.  With a focus on great customer service, we will help you through the ordering process and can give you input on shirt style, art placement and answer any questions you may have. We work hard to keep costs down and deliver that savings to you. Each garment is printed on one of our two, 6 color presses and quality control is A #1. We support local Portland companies by purchasing our supplies locally whenever possible.

With an emphasis on the environment and personal health we use soy and citrus based products for our setup/ cleanup whenever possible instead of harsh chemicals. We also print with water based inks, phalate free, or phalate compliant inks, and formaldehyde free discharge for most of our print jobs. Besides the health and environmental benefits, this allows us to create you product we can be proud to deliver to you and you can be proud to deliver to your clients.

PLASTISOL

This is what you see on most store bought shirts this ink creates a durable layer of ink on top of the garment.

Advantages:

-Long lasting print

-Bright colors even on dark garments

-Specialty inks available to achieve almost any look

-Most versatile

-PMS color matching available

Disadvantages: Can contain phalates, although we don't use many with phalates and never do on childrens prints

non-breathable on darker color garments- and sometimes lighter colored as well depending on the look you are going for

WATER BASED INKS*

Advantages to printing with water based inks:
-No PVC or Phthalates
-Your print will come out softer than most prints done with Plastisol.
- Print is breathable
- Print can be ironed.

We offer pantone color matching with our water based inks. This allows us to stay as true to your artwork as possible.

Disadvantages   * In most cases this service is only available for light colored garments. Will add additional costs to your per-print price

DISCHARGE PRINTING- Now using formaldehyde free!!!

We also offer Discharge printing as well as Discharge with pigments. Discharge basically strips the color pigment from the shirts, and allows us to either leave the natural color of the shirt exposed as the print, or replace the pigment we took away with a different color pigment.

The benefits:
-The look of the print as well as the feel of the print. After a couple washes the print really just feels like the rest of the shirt.
- On dark fabrics this can help the ink colors to "pop" a bit more
-Also great for vintage or distressed prints

The Negatives:
-Exact color can be more difficult to control and are sometimes not as bright. Will add additional costs to your per-print price
